Our Journey
ANDROMEDA MOBILE PLANETARIUM was conceptualized in the year 2012 by Consuelo Joy Macario. The idea came from having to attend one of the numerous fieldtrips alongside her daughters which led them to the planetarium at one of the malls in Manila and thought, why not bring the planetarium to those who do not have the means to travel? With a goal in mind, Consuelo set forth and decided to look more into what was an already brewing plan in mind. She started out by going back to the mall which housed the planetarium and then coordinated with Mr. Bamm Gabriana, Ms. Roch Derilo, and the Astronomy Department of Rizal Technological University. After all the planning and conceptualizing, the company was able to uphold their launching on November 26, 2013 at the Porta Vaga Mall, Session Road, Baguio City.
A community well-aware of astronomical information and opportunities. A community with high interest in venturing into the field of astronomy. Astronomy education strengthening the science learning.
VISION:
To promote an effective science teaching-learning experience to distant communities, who have difficulties in traveling far, through a moving planetarium alongside with the Department of Education. To provide more information and knowledge through the use of strategic intervention materials with meaningful activities.
MISSION:
Promote astronomy awareness among the students and the public in general;
Upgrade teachers on the trends related to Astronomy;
Implement fun, interactive and educational activity that would serve as a helpful discussion starter and teaching tool;
Aid teachers in stimulating and sustaining the interest of the learners using visual presentation and simulations.
Empower the students to grasp abstract astronomical ideas and events and make them realize the impact of astronomy and other science in our daily lives, and understand how scientific knowledge can contribute to a more equitable and peaceful society.
